Dave Knight - a legend in his own lifetime

Evie has written on her Facebook page as follows:

It is with a broken heart that I confirm the passing of our beloved Jazz promoter & all round legend, David Knight. Words cannot express the joy he brought to a huge amount of Jazz fans over more than 30 years. He was completely devoted to Jazz but wanted to spread that devotion to as many people as possible. I want to assure all the musicians and patrons of all the venues we are involved in, that I will continue his work in his name, and with the enormous passion and hard work that he put in, for as long as you want me. Please respect the family's privacy at this time and I will let you know the plans for a big musical send off in due course. All bookings in all venues for 2016 stand. Please be patient with me as I try to organise behind the scenes. Bebop is still spoken here, and I hope that it is in Heaven too.

Thanks Evie - beautifully put. We owe Dave so much. We (Tom and Jean) have been maintaining this blog for Dave and are happy to continue to do so in his name.
